Daughters of Charity Mark 50 Years of Faithful Service Across Communities and Missions

With grateful hearts, the Little Company of the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul joyfully celebrated the Golden Jubilee of six sisters who, for five decades, devoted their lives to serving God in persons who are poor. Their steadfast commitment, lived out in diverse missions and communities, stands as a radiant testimony of fidelity, love, and Vincentian zeal.

The Province of St. Louise de Marillac-Asia honors the 50 years of vocation and mission of:

• Sr. Heidi VILLAREAL, belonging to Asilo de Molo, Iloilo City
• Sr. Pilar FLORETE, serving in the Marillac Community, Provincial House
• Sr. Cristita VALDEZ, from St. Vincent’s Home, Bacolod City
• Sr. Teresita “Tess” ANTE, assigned at Santa Isabel College, Manila
• Sr. Teresita “Daku” ABASTILLAS, missioned to Universidad de Santa Isabel, Naga
• Sr. Maria Unchayah NIRUNDORNPRASERT, of the Thailand Mission

In Iloilo City, on February 14, 2026, Sr. Heidi was honored by the community of Asilo de Molo, where Sisters from local communities in Western Visayas, her family, relatives, friends, former students, and collaborators expressed heartfelt gratitude for her steadfast and faithful presence throughout the years.

In the Bicol Region, on February 15, 2026, Sisters Pilar, Cristita, Tess, and Daku celebrated their Golden Jubilee at the scenic USI Eco-Pilgrim Park on Mt. Isarog in Consocep, Tigaon, Camarines Sur. Accompanied by their Sister Servants and some members of their respective communities, they gathered in gratitude and joy. The Eucharist was presided over by Fr. Gerardo VIBAR, CM, Provincial Director, and graced by the presence of Sr. Josie ONAG, Visitatrix, and Sr. Purita ESPALDON, Provincial Treasurer, representing the Curia. Surrounded by lush greenery and a supportive community, the jubilarians were also joined by Sisters from the Communities of Naga, Libon, and Pili, who shared in this milestone of grace and thanksgiving.

Meanwhile, in Thailand, Sr. Unchayah joined other religious congregations in a beautiful joint celebration of the 25th and 50th anniversaries of consecrated life. Held on February 2, the World Day for Consecrated Life, at the Assumption Cathedral in Bang Rak, Bangkok, the gathering highlighted the unity and shared mission of consecrated persons across communities and countries.

As these six sisters commemorate 50 years of “love in action,” the Province gives thanks for their unwavering dedication, countless acts of service, and enduring witness to the charism of St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac. Their lives continue to inspire younger generations to embrace the call to serve Christ in persons who are poor.

Their Golden Jubilee reminds us all: a life offered to God becomes a blessing beyond measure.
