New and Renewed Sister Servants
Eleven new Sister Servants of the Daughters of Charity gathered in Tagaytay for a three-day orientation program. Among them, 6 are embarking on their mission for the first time, while 5 return after a period of pause.
Guided by the Visitatrix, the Provincial Director, three Provincial Councilors, the Provincial Treasurer, and the Provincial Secretary, the Sister Servants journeyed more deeply into the Sister Servants’ Guide. The orientation emphasized the spiritual life as the hub of each local house, highlighting the Sister Servant’s role in sustaining its depth, vitality, and centrality in the life and mission of the Community.
The sessions also underscored accompaniment—especially the ministry of listening—and the gift of animation as central responsibilities. Above all, they affirmed the essential mission of the Sister Servant: fostering unity, sustaining the rhythm of community life, and strengthening the vocation of each Sister as she grows in the charism of the Founders and in the spirit of the Company.
Not to be forgotten, a joyful recreation graced the feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary. After the praying of the rosary before the altar of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal at the Renewal and Mission Center, the Sisters gathered in fellowship, their celebration marked by songs, dances, and cheer.
The orientation concluded with conversations between the new Sister Servants and members of the Curia. These exchanges opened space for deeper reflection on the experiences, challenges, and hopes of community life, while offering the Sisters an opportunity to clarify their roles and renew their commitment to the mission. The gathering closed in a spirit of gratitude, openness, and rekindled zeal for the mission.
