Angels of Rendu Art Club

Angels of Rendu Art Club brings together gifted children from Hospicio de San Jose and other institutions under the care of the Daughters of Charity—such as Asilo de San Vicente and the Rosalie Rendu Development Center. These young artists, blessed with remarkable talent in the visual arts, deserve every opportunity to be nurtured, guided, and celebrated.

Formed in 2019, the club began with one extraordinary resident artist from Hospicio de San Jose, Angie, who paints using her feet, alongside Hospicio’s benefactor Mr. Phillip Ong. That same year, they held their first art exhibit, featuring Angie’s inspiring works together with Phillip’s.
In 2022, the group mounted “Angels in Rendu,” showcasing the works of Angie, Angelica, and Phillip. By 2023, the exhibit “Expanding Horizons” broadened participation to include Angie, Angelica, Phillip, and ten more children from Hospicio. The momentum continued in 2024 with “Essence,” highlighting the same core group and additional young artists. In 2025, the exhibit “Artisans of Hope” marked a new milestone, extending participation beyond Hospicio de San Jose to include children from other institutions administered by the Daughters of Charity, such as Asilo de San Vicente and the Rosalie Rendu Development Center.
The name “Angels of Rendu” traces its roots to Angels in Rendu, which referred to Angie and Angelica, residents of the Rendu Dorm at Hospicio de San Jose—named after Blessed Rosalie Rendu. As the group grew beyond the Rendu Dorm to embrace children from other institutions, it was officially named the Angels of Rendu Art Club, honoring both its origins and its expanding mission.
Today, the club continues to hold ongoing art classes for children from Hospicio de San Jose and partner institutions, providing them with opportunities to express their creativity and share their talents with the wider community.
