A Legacy of Service Honored!
During the 50th Annual Convention of the Philippine College of Hospital Administrators (PCHA), held at the Manila Hotel on November 15, 2025, the DC Health Ministry was deeply honored to receive the Posthumous Testimonial of Sincere Appreciation and Grateful Recognition for our former Superintendent, Sister Normita L. Guevara, DC, MHA, FPCHA. Her compassion and leadership, rooted in faith and expressed in service, continue to inspire and challenge us, especially the leaders in the DC Health Ministry, in our mission of caring for the sick with humility, excellence, and love.
The award was graciously accepted by Sister Remedios T. Tidor, DC, Vice President (VP) for Health Services of San Juan de Dios Educational Foundation, Inc. – Hospital. She was joined in this moment of remembrance by Sister Marylou T. Luga, DC, VP for Health Services of St. Anthony College Hospital, Sister Ma. Sharon Q. Nievales, DC, VP for Health Services of USI de Naga, Inc. Health Services – Mother Seton Hospital, and our Lay Mission Partners.
St. Louise de Marillac reminds us: ‘Be diligent in serving the poor. Love the poor, honor them as you would honor Christ Himself.’ (Spiritual Writings, L. 96) These words echo the very heart of Sister Normita’s life and legacy.
Sister Normita’s distinguished service, unwavering commitment, and outstanding leadership—including her term as PCHA President in 2009—remain a guiding light for our ministry. Her life was a living testimony of what it means to walk faithfully in the footsteps of St. Vincent, St. Louise, and the many Daughters of Charity who embodied charity with courage.
