Did you know?

Every year on March 25, the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord, the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paulacross 97 countries pause as one global community to renew their vows.
Though separated by oceans, cultures, and languages, we are united in a single act of faith—a renewed “yes” to God. This “yes” echoes the fiat of the Blessed Virgin Mary, whose humble openness made space for God’s saving work in the world. In her, we find both the inspiration and the model of our own response: simple, trusting, and complete.
In chapels, mission stations, and humble places of service, this renewal often unfolds quietly. Yet within this silence lies something deeply powerful. It is a moment of grace where each Sister reaffirms her commitment to live in poverty, chastity, and obedience, and to serve Christ in the poor with renewed love and fidelity.
This shared act reminds us that our vocation is never lived in isolation. It is a gift that binds us together as one Company, one family, sent forth for the mission. No matter where we are in the world, we are united by the same spirit, the same charism, and the same desire to respond generously to God’s call.
More than a tradition, the annual renewal of vows is a living testimony that vocation is not a one-time response, but a daily offering. It is a journey continually deepened by grace, sustained by prayer, and expressed in concrete acts of charity.
On this blessed day, our hearts beat as one—grateful for the gift of vocation, and ever ready to say again:
“Yes, Lord.”
