Sharing God's Love, Lifting Up Hope
At the end of 2025, Sr. Netty, together with colleagues from the migrant care ministry, visited the Taipei Detention Center. The Center provides temporary shelter for migrant workers from various countries who are awaiting repatriation. During their brief visit, they played games, shared Christmas gifts, and engaged in conversations with the workers, taking time to listen to their life stories.
Through these encounters, Sr. Netty and her colleagues discerned God’s presence in the workers’ brokenness, fatigue, and quiet hopes. Their stories reminded them of Jesus, who also endured rejection and injustice. They came to see that the mission of the Daughters of Charity is not primarily to solve problems, but to bear witness to God’s love through presence, attentive listening, and compassion. For them, even the smallest acts of care can shine as signs of hope and of God’s faithful love.
