London Filipino Chaplaincy Pilgrimage 2025
In preparation for the International Migrants and Mission Mass in Rome, the London Filipino Chaplaincy embraced a season of grace through two significant pilgrimages meant to renew the spirit of the community and reaffirm their mission as Filipino migrants in the Church.
On September 28, 2025, the chaplaincy organized a Local Pilgrimage across designated Jubilee Churches in London. This was especially offered for those who could not join the Rome gathering. Led prayerfully by Sr. Fe Rosalie Mangarin, DC, a Filipino Daughter of Charity serving in the UK, the pilgrims journeyed through sacred spaces that hold deep meaning for the Jubilee Year. Each stop became an opportunity for reflection, thanksgiving, and communal prayer—lifting up the concerns of migrant families, the sacrifices of overseas workers, and the hope for a more compassionate world.
The local pilgrimage strengthened bonds within the community, reminding everyone that pilgrimage is less about distance traveled and more about the openness of the heart to God’s transforming grace.
The spiritual preparation culminated in the October 3–5 Pilgrimage to Rome, where a delegation from the London Filipino Chaplaincy joined thousands of migrants and missionaries from different nations. Together, they participated in the International Migrants and Mission Mass, celebrating the global tapestry of cultures that enrich the Church. The Rome pilgrimage became a moment of profound unity—an affirmation of the gifts migrants bring, a renewal of their mission in the places they now call home, and a joyful witness to the enduring faith of the Filipino community worldwide.
Through these two journeys—one local, one international—the chaplaincy continues to walk together in synodality, strengthened by shared faith, guided by Mary, and committed to bringing the light of Christ wherever they are sent.
