Ten Women Begin Pre-Postulancy with the Daughters of Charity

On July 18, the 196th anniversary of the first apparition of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, to St. Catherine Labouré, the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul joyfully welcomed ten women into the Pre-Postulancy, marking a significant step in their journey of discerning God's call to consecrated life.

The celebration began with the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Rev. Fr. Gerardo VIBAR, CM, Provincial Director of the Daughters of Charity, and was graced by the presence of Sr. Josie B. ONAG, DC, Visitatrix, the members of the Provincial Curia, and the local communities where the candidates completed their Aspirancy formation.

The occasion was one of thanksgiving as the community recognized God’s unfolding plan in the lives of these women, who have generously responded to Christ’s invitation to follow Him in the footsteps of St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac.

The new Pre-Postulants are Jenny Jimenez AUDITOR (Bohol), Phuong Thi Le (Japan Mission), Cherry Bonbon SOBREVEGA (Palawan), Mary Rose Meran MARZONIA (Romblon), Mary June Romano RAYNA (Negros Occidental), Jenodee Arabit GEOCADA (Rizal), Kristy Bornehan CONSTANTINO (Iloilo), Mary Rose Rojero BACSA (Quezon City), Fritzie Sato BINGIL (North Cotabato), and Madeline Grace Bracamonte BAYLON (Iloilo). Each has a unique vocation story, having encountered God's call through family, prayer, service to the poor, the witness of the Daughters of Charity, and even digital evangelization through the Company’s digital presence.

Gratitude was likewise expressed to the local communities where they completed their Aspirancy—Marillac Community, Asilo de San Vicente de Paul, Immaculate Heart of Mary College, Hospicio de San Jose, Santa Isabel College of Manila, Inmaculada Concepcion–Mandaue, Concordia College, and Asilo de Molo—for their generous hospitality, loving accompaniment, and faithful witness in nurturing these vocations.

Inspired by the Gospel proclamation, “Behold, my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved with whom I am well pleased” (Mt. 12:18), the celebration emphasized that every vocation begins with God's loving initiative. As they commence this stage of formation, the Pre-Postulants are invited to deepen their relationship with Christ and grow in humility, simplicity, charity, and joyful service to those who are poor.

The Province of St. Louise de Marillac-Asia warmly welcomed the Pre-Postulants, entrusting them to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, and praying that they may continue to discern generously and faithfully embrace God’s will.
