Christian Vincentian Formation

The Christian-Vincentian Formation (CVF) of the Province of St. Louise de Marillac-Asia traces its roots to 1992, when Sr. Julma Neo, DC, Visitatrix, established the Religious Education (R.E.) Ministry Service Desk to strengthen the Religious Education Program in DC Schools. Sr. Grace Namocatcat, DC was the first RE Ministry Coordinator, with Sr. Asuncion Evidente, DC as the Superintendent of the DC schools. In 1995, under the leadership of Sr. Rosa Lynn Dromal, DC as RE Ministry Coordinator, the RE Service Desk and the RE Team worked on the first DC Christian Living Textbook Series (Kinder–Grade 10), including teacher’s guides, music resources, and lessons on Sts. Vincent and Louise. Its vision was Renewed Incarnational Evangelization. After the revision of the High School Textbooks in 2003 led by Sr. Maria Helen Castillo, DC, the Service Desk was closed.

In 2020, Sr. Maria Ana Rosario Evidente, DC, Visitatrix, envisioned an integrated Chrisitan Vincentian Formation (CVF) Ministry that will attend to the Religious Education, Campus Ministry and the Vincentian Formation of the DC SLMES School. This led to the birth of CVF in 2021with Sr. Rosa Lynn M. Doromal, DC as Coordinator for the Center for Christian Vincentian Formation (CCVF) and the CVF Ministry, with the guidance of Sr. Josie B. Onag, DC who was then Superintendent of DC-SLMES. The CCVF began a full K–12 curriculum revision that is learner-centered, values-integrated, and rooted in Vincentian Spirituality. Formation programs for RE teachers were offered online.Vincentian Formation developed differentiated modules for Lay Mission Partners, while Campus Ministry started to establish a shared Vision-Mission, strengthened formation for Campus Ministers, and shared retreat resources across schools.

All CVF components aim at Intentional Vincentian Discipleship—helping the young grow in the likeness of Jesus—and Mission in the footsteps of our Founders, St. Vincent and St. Louise, providing opportunities for service to the Church and the poor.

In 2022, CVF held WRITESHOP 2022 in four simultaneous locations, gathering 35 writers. This was followed by the formation of Campus Ministers at Fray Juan Clemente SJDEFI, coordinated by Sr. Rowena Encinas, DC and facilitated by Mr. Narciso Cruzat, Mr. Rey Rodil & Mr. Andy Reglos. In 2023, the Vincentian Prayer Companion was published in support of the CVF spirituality.

Today, the CVF Team and Regional Coordinators continue to animate a unified mission: forming hearts, deepening faith, and nurturing the Vincentian spirit across the Province.
